Spatio-temporal variability of methane emissions from small Swabian lakes und their importance compared to large lakes (Lake Constance)

The aim of the project is to measure the spatial distribution of dissolved methane in selected, small Swabian lakes and to estimate their emissions to atmosphere on a seasonal time scales. The observed distribution patterns will set in relation to the specific abiotic and biotic boundary conditions and to the properties of the catchment area of the lake using multivariate statistics. The patterns of dissolved methane and methane emissions will be analysed regarding the differences between the Swabian lakes and Lake Constance.
