The ImageStream®X Mark II System is a multispectral, imaging flow cytometer that combines the visual power of microscopy with the speed, sensitivity, and phenotyping abilities of flow cytometry by digitally imaging cells directly in flow.
The instrument is equipped with two CCD cameras, a brightfield lamp and three lasers - blue (488nm), violet (405nm) and red (642nm) - enabling 12 high-resolution images (brightfield, darkfield and up to 10 fluorescence parameters) of each cell at 20x, 40x or 60x magnification and rates up to 5,000 cells per second.
With these features the image stream enables a broad range of quantitative, statistically robust cellular analysis is ideal to investigate cell states, cell signaling, nuclear and co-localisation, internalisation, shape change and much more.

Description
The instrument is primarily used for sorting of all stages of C. elegans. It is also suitable for isolation of cell clusters like mouse adipocytes, ESC's / EB's, hepatocytes, pancreatic islets, and duct cells as well as small beads and seeds with sizes from 20 to 200 microns (diameter).
