Bioimaging 0
In this course you will learn how an image is formed in a microscope. You will learn the fundamentals of microscope operation. You will compare different contrasting techniques on biological samples and practice techniques to characterize the specification of an instrument (e.g. resolution limit and chromatic aberration correction). You will learn to image fluorescent samples by widefield and confocal microscopy. The course takes place in the labs of the BIC.
Schedule: 3 days, ZEuS
Course is limited to 6 students.
Registration via email to bioimaging@uni-konstanz.de
Bioimaging I
The Course "Bioimaging I" for members of the Graduate School "Chemical Biology" is a practical course on advanced imaging techniques: Confocal, Spinning Disk, TIRF, etc.
In this course you will learn how different fluorescence microscopy techniques can be applied to various biological samples, from single cells to C. elegans, to answer scientific questions. You will practice techniques ranging from 3D-imaging, deconvolution to photomanipulation. The course takes place in the labs of the BIC.
Schedule: 3 days, ZEuS
Registration via the KoRS-CB webpage.
Frontiers in Bioimaging
This course will cover super resolution microscopy techniques (structured illumination, localization microscopy) by lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on. Additioanlly, we will introduce the OMERO database, which allows to store, annotate, and even process image data. Introductory lectures for the different topics are followed by demonstration and hands-on sessions at the instruments. Participants are welcome to bring along their own sample, in which case they should consult with Dr. Martin Stöckl.
Schedule: 3 days
Course is limited to 6 students.
