Applications

There are a lot of different cell populations which can be targeted and separated by the MACS® technology. Different separation strategies can be applied depending on the population of interest. Miltenyi Biotec offers various kits for magnetic cell separation. For this cell surface molecules are labelled with magnetic beads followed by purification via a magnetic column. Magnetic cell separation can be used as a gentler method for sensitive cells than FACS sorting furthermore it can also be used for enrichment of a specific cell population as presort before FACS sorting.
