Flow Cytometers at FlowKon

FlowKon currently hosts four flow cytometers supporting the use of a wide range of flow cytometry applications. The cytometers are available 24h for trained users, and during regular operating hours for assisted acquisition.

BD LSRFortessa™

The BD LSRFortessa™ is a high-end bench cytometer equipped with 5 lasers: blue (488 nm), yellow-green (561 nm), red (633 nm), violet (405 nm) and UV (355 nm). With the detection of up to 18 colors and forward and side scatter the instrument offers the optimal platform for multicolor analysis.

Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX

The Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX LX™ is a compact bench cytometer equipped with 5 lasers - blue (488nm),  yellow-green (561nm), red (638nm), violet (405nm) and near UV (375nm). With the detection of up to 18 colors plus forward and side scatter data the instrument offers the optimal platform for multicolor analysis. The flow cytometer offers the oportunity to collect side scatter signal from violet laser to better resolve nanoparticles from noise. The cytometer supports the measurement of absolute cell counts by calibrating sample volume via a peristaltic pump. For higher throughput samples can be processessed on a 96-well plate loader.

Plate Loader for 96-well Standard Flat, U and V bottom plates, and 96-deep well plates. 

Scatter Resolution
Option to configure Photo Diode detector array to collect side scatter signal from Violet laser. The configured channel (VSSC) can be used to better resolve nanoparticles. Blue (488 nm) Side Scatter Resolution: < 300nm. Violet (405 nm) Side Scatter Resolution (VSSC): 80 nm polystyrene particles.

Fluorescence Resolution
The CytoFLEX Flow Cytometer is capable of achieving <3% with alignment verification particles capable  of rCVs <3%

Nominal Acquisition Rate
30,000 events per second with all configured parameters.

Signal Processing
Fully digital system with 7 decade data display.

BD FACSVerse

The BD FACSVerse™ flow cytometer is equipped with 3 lasers: blue (488 nm), red (633 nm) and violet (405 nm) to support cell analysis for research applications using up to 10 parameters. The analyzer is equipped with a volume sensor allowing automated cell count of the sample. The BD FACSuite software delivers a seamless workflow from system setup, through data acquisition and analysis.

The BD FACSLyric™ flow cytometer is very similar to the FACSVerse™ and is also equipped with 3 lasers: blue (488 nm), red (633 nm) and violet (405 nm) to support cell analysis for research applications using up to 12 parameters. The BD FACSuite software delivers a seamless workflow from system setup, through data acquisition and analysis.
