My research focus lies mainly on plant reproduction and animal-plant interactions with emphasis in pollination. I study plant breeding systems, floral biology (floral traits and floral morphology), as well as pollination systems. Recently, I was accepted as a student of the International Max-Planck Research School for Organismal Biology (IMPRS).
Research project
The first steps of plant mating system evolution: my current PhD project deals with the plant model species Arabidopsis lyrata and its unique reproductive system, which is represented by populations with self-compatible and self-incompatible systems. In this project I will investigate the evolution of floral traits, the fitness and performance of inbreeders and the inbreeding depression in populations of A. lyrata.
